    Ah Xian (b.1960, Beijing) is one of Australia’s most prominent contemporary artists, known for his striking life-sized sculptures made of materials including cloisonné, porcelain, concrete, fibreglass, bronze, jade and Ox-bone inlay and latex.

    A self-taught painter, Ah Xian became a professional artist in the 1980s and has been involved in the avant-garde art movement in China. Since moving to Australia, Ah Xian has exhibited across the country and around the world since the 1990s.
