Juan Gabriel
Juan Gabriel (Parácuaro, 7 de gener de 1950 - 28 d'agost de 2016) nom artístic d'Alberto Aguilera Valadez, va ser un cantant, compositor, productor discogràfic, filantrop i actormexicà.[1]
Són notables les seves contribucions a la música popular en castellà en diferents gèneres com belada, ranxera, bolero, pop, música del nord, rumba flamenca, huapango, música chicana, salsa, són de mariachi, banda sinaloense, disc, big band i fins a cançons de bressol que va escriure a cadascun dels seus fills. Va ser el principal bastió de la música regional mexicana contemporània en l'últim terç del segle XX fins al moment de la seva mort. Ha venut més de cent milions de discos com a solista, productor musical i al costat de l'espanyola Rocío Dúrcal.[2] Les seves composicions han estat traduïdes a idiomes tan diversos com turc, alemany, francès, italià, tagal, japonès, grec, papiamento, portuguès i anglès.
Era conegut també per realitzar obres destinades a oferir les oportunitats de desenvolupament a la infantesa desafortunada, no sols a Mèxic sinó en altres països. Va ser benefactor de més d'un centenar de menors albergats en una escola anomenada «Semjase», creada per ell el 1987 en Ciudad Juárez, estat de Chihuahua.[3]

Alberto Aguilera Valadez was born on January 7, 1950 in Parácuaro, Michoacan, Mexico to farm workers Gabriel Aguilera Rodriguez & Victoria Valadez Rojas. His father died at a young age and his mother took him to La Escuela Laica de Mejoramiento Social para Menores, an orphanage designed to give education to youth. In this orphanage, he wrote his first song with his surrogate parents and teachers Micaela Alvarado and Juan Contreras. At 14, he began singing at his local church choir and made his TV debut at the age of 15 on Noches Rancheras under the name “Adán Luna”. The following year, he performed at local bars, including one called “El Noa Noa”. At 19, he was signed with RCA and changed his name to Juan Gabriel, a name combining both his biological and surrogate fathers.
During his career, he released over 30 studio albums and wrote some of Mexico’s most iconic songs like “Hasta Que Te Conoci”, “Yo No Naci Para Amar”, and “El Noa Noa”, inspired by the bar he used to perform in. He even wrote songs for other prolific artists like Rocio Durcal and Isabel Panoja, including their hits “Amor Eterno” and “Asi Fue”, respectively.
