George & Tammy is an American biographicaldramaminiseries created by Abe Sylvia and directed by John Hillcoat, which premiered on Paramount Network, Showtime and CMT on December 4, 2022, with Showtime as its primary network. It stars Jessica Chastain and Michael Shannon as country musicians Tammy Wynette and George Jones, chronicling their tumultuous relationship and intertwined careers.
The series received a positive critical reception, particularly for the performances of Chastain and Shannon. For her role, Chastain received a nomination for Best Actress – Miniseries or Television Film at the 80th Golden Globe Awards and won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Miniseries or Television Movie at the 29th Screen Actors Guild Awards.[1][2]

A man like no other
I am a HUGE Waylon Jennings fan. Then I saw the George and Tammy series and got turned onto George. People often overlook country music as simple music with twangy singing. George's songs and the manner in which he sings really makes you take a step back. The fact that so many of his peers have so much admiration for him really is impressive. George had a 50 plus year career. His personal life would make Keith Richard's or any rockstar look like a choir boy. He finally got clean and straightened his life out. The George and Tammy series was really good and with great actors but this documentary tells the actual story by George himself and the people who rode that ride with him.
